AngloGold sensitises stakeholders
AngloGold Ashanti limited, has held its 2nd Town Hall meeting with its stakeholders, with the aim of explaining its operations for effective administrative management at Obuasi in the Ashanti region.

The meeting was also to educate the stakeholders and people within the catchment communities on the financial management as well as social commitment to enhance cordial relationship with the people in the area.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr Kwesi Enyan, Managing Director of AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi mines, expressed his appreciation to President John Mahama, for raising concern to fight against illegal gold mine operators (gallemsey) in the country, especially within the catchment areas of AngloGold Ashanti, Obuasi Mines.
He said the national crusade against the illegal mining has saved the company from insecurity and financial loses to the company.
He said the exercise has driven away about 10,000 illegal miners including Chinese and other foreigners from mining areas of the company Mr Mark Morcombe, Senior Vice President, Operations Obuasi Mines, said due to the frequent drops of the gold prize at the World market, there was the need to put up strategic plans and policies to sustain the operations of the mine.
