4th CEOs summit to focus on technology

The fourth CEOs Summit scheduled for May 20-21, 2019 will focus on how to explore the ongoing technological revolution to transform Ghana’s economy, the convenor of the summit, Mr Ernest De-Graft Egyir, has stated.

He said this year’s event was aimed at bringing to the fore the happenings in the technological space and how companies in the country could take advantage of them.

Mr Egyir told the Daily Graphic at a Speakers Cocktail event in Accra that “the entire world economy now sits on technology architecture and we don’t want to be left behind.”

“We will be looking at discussions on the future of businesses, the future of jobs and the future of the economy with the emergence of technology,” he said.

Mr Egyir said the rate at which technology was transforming economies in the world called for strong leadership control in that space.

“It is for this reason that we are bringing leaders of industries and the government together to learn from the experts in the field,” he explained.

He said the experts would educate them on the future of businesses in this era of technology and the dangers associated with it.

Bridging the gap

Mr Egyir also said the summit was aimed at bridging the gap between the public sector and the private sector.

“The gap between the public sector and the private sector is very wide and continues to widen,” he noted.

“This platform is, therefore, to bring all of them together to engage themselves,” he added.

Discussion points and structure

The summit, on the theme, “The Futuristic Economy: Technology-Driven Future of Business and Governance for Economic Transformation,” is committed to unlocking Ghana’s economic potential by championing private sector-led growth.

It will lead discussions around innovative public policies and best growth-oriented business practices.

Topical issues to be addressed this year, include how to radically transform your business, building an African multinational footprint, ethics and corporate governance, as well as technologically driven future of business and the economy.

There will also be a public-private sector dialogue on the economy of Ghana and the practicality of doing business in the country.

This year’s edition will feature CEO business cases, expert insights and high-level plenary sessions, panel discussions, CEO peer networking, investors’ hub and trade missions, as well as corporate exhibitions.

There will also be CEO excellence awards to acknowledge and celebrate business leaders who have distinguished themselves as transformational leaders with a record of growth, professionalism and integrity.

A total of 400 CEOs from across the African continent are expected to participate in the summit, with Ghana’s Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as the special guest of honour.
