The results put the Ghanaians back in the reckoning after they gave away their opening game 0:1.

Going into Friday’s game, coach Mercy Tagoe Quarcoo had banked on her charges to harvest as many goals as they could, starting Philicity Asuako, Alice Kusi and Ruth Appiah in a strategic change to the team that failed against the Ivorians.

Despite the huge win,  the Queens are not through yet as they have a final Group A game against Burkina Faso to play to determine their fate.

Burkina Faso, 5:1 winners against Niger on match day one, face Cote d’Ivoire in the other group game Friday.
