Torttimah wins Champion Bowl Tennis

Ronald Torttimah was last Saturday crowned winner of this year's Champion Bowl Tennis Tournament held at the Ghana Tennis Club in Accra after defeating Felix Hammond 2-1 (4-2, 4-5 (4), 4-1).

Torttimah took home a gold medal and products from the sponsors, aside from a trip to Spain to participate in the international Champions Bowl Tennis competition slated for October.

In the boys U-14 final, Aaron Asante beat Louis Nyaava 21-19, with the under-12 age category going to Michael Dosoo after defeating Amos Asante.

In the girls division, Naa McKorley won 21-19 against Grace Tormegah, while Vanessa Akuaku won the girls U-12 category with a 21-16 victory over Shika Mckorley.

The Champions Bowl Tennis Tournament is an annual competition organised by Zion Management Limited (ZMAL) to nurture young talents in the sport.

The Chief Executive Officer of ZMAL, David Derhnick Coffie, told the Daily Graphic in an interview that the competition was meant to train young athletes in the sport towars international exposure.

He, however, urged young athletes to participate in the competition next year since it would be an opportunity to nurture young talents.

The tournament was sponsored by Wilson, SIC Life Company, Special Ice Company and Bfresh Water Company.
