The juniors championship, being organised by Zion Management Africa Limited, will serve as the entry platform to the World Masters Champion Bowl, an international junior tournament held annually in Turkey.

The competition allows junior players from all over the country to pit their strength and skills against one another to determine who represents Ghana in this year’s tournament in Turkey.

The organisers of the championship believe that with the tournament becoming a regular feature on the Ghanaian junior tennis calendar, it would add to the development of the sport in the country.

The three-day event will witness boys and girls of ages 12, 14 and 16 challenging one another for honours.

In an interview with the Daily Graphic, the Chief Executive Officer of Zion Management Africa Limited (ZMAL), David Derhnick-Coffie, said he was confident the tournament would attract many young tennis talents.

“This is the second year in the Champion Bowl Tournament and it’s been very successful and we hope to improve on the success annually,” he said.

This year’s edition of the Champion Bowl Tournament has corporate support from Wilson International Sports brand, Mama Vits, Indomie, Befresh Water Company, Special Ice Company and SIC life saving and loans.
