We’re ready for the challenge — Kevin-Prince

Black Stars midfielder, Kevin-Prince Boateng, is allaying fears about the huge threat that faces Ghana’s World Cup campaign in Brazil, insisting that the Black Stars have the men to deal with the odds.

The Black Stars find themselves in what the pundits describe as the 'Group of Death’ with Germany, Portugal and the USA.

But the Schalke star says he and his teammates are not overwhelmed.

"If you look at our team it is made up of players who play in Europe and they know the terrain so well that we will use that to our advantage in all of our group games," he told Football411

"We were underdogs in South Africa, but we were able to prevail, we will do the same thing because I believe we have what it takes to make the nation proud once again.

"We play against these guys; we meet them every week, so why should we be afraid of them? We have players who also play in the Champions League and all that, so we will be up against them.” he stated.

Meanwhile, Black Stars defender Jonathan Mensah echoed the sentiments of Boateng, saying, "We have a very strong team that can compete with any other team in this world.

"We know most of their players are playing in the good leagues around the world, we can also say the same thing about some of our players.

"The Black Stars team is made up of young and experienced players and that have been our hallmark," he added.

"We will rely on our strength and make sure we mark them boot for boot. In football you don’t have to respect your opponent a lot, because if you do so it will be to your disadvantage. We know most of them but we are not scared of any of their players, we want to play to make ourselves happy as well as our fans", K-P stated.
