The coach was recognised for his outstanding peformance which made it possible for Wa All Stars to emerge as winners of the Ghana Premier League in the 2015/16 football season.

In a post-event interview, Coach Adipah, who took home a TLC Lifestyle television set, a memento and an undisclosed amount of cash as prize, said “from the beginning I thought it would take me about 10 to 20 years to win an award, but all of a sudden I get to win this prestigious award, so this is a plus for me and for my job. It tells me I have taken a good step.

Mr Samuel Oduro-Nyarko and goalie Richard Ofori added to the dominance of the league champions on the night after winning the CEO of the Season and Goalkeeper of the Season awards respectively.

While Oduro-Nyarko fended off competition from Aduana Stars’ Albert Aryeetey Commey and Medeama’s James Essilfie for the enviable title, Richard Ofori ran away with the goalkeepers’ honour at the expense of Razak Abalora from WAFA and Joseph Addo of Aduana Stars.

Another hero on the night was Liberty Professionals’ Latif Blessing, who took home two awards, the topmost Footballer of the Season, as well as the Top Scorer of the Season, after  defeating Medeama’s Kwesi Donsu and Abdul Bashiru of Dreams FC to the titles.

Latif, 19, whose goalscoring qualities showed in the just-ended season to became goal-king with 17 goals, was the favourite on the night for his outstanding performance which saved Liberty Professionals from relegation.

Referee Awal Mohammed, who was adjudged best referee at the recently held MTN FA Cup Awards, was second time lucky as he shrugged off competition from close contenders Daniel Laryea and S.B. Bortey to take home the Referee of the Year prize.

Other awardees were Hearts Of Oak’s Inusah Musah (Defender of the Season), Abdul Alidu Hudu of Inter Allies (Most Promising Player of the Season), Haruna Bawa (Assistant Referee), Augustine Asante (Match Commissioner Category), Berekum Chelsea (Fair Play Club of the Year), Paul Agbenyegah (Cameraman of the Year), Emmanuel Newton Dasobri (GFA Best Male Worker) and Mrs Joyce Asare (GFA Best Female Worker).

The event  was graced by Supreme Court Judge, Justice Anin Yeboah, as the Special Guest of Honour, while Mr Amarkai Amarteifio, Board Chairman of promoted Premier League side, Accra Great Olympics, chaired the function.

Also present at the ceremony were GFA President and FIFA Executive Committee member, Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, Mr Saka Aquaye, a director at the National Sports Authority, boxing legend Azumah Nelson, representatives from Star- Times and other sponsors.
