VIDEO: Bukom Banku quits skin bleaching for boxing return on September 26
Undefeated Ghanaian boxer, Braimah Kamoko alias Bukom Banku has quit bleaching his skin in order to make a successful return to the sport on September 26. Banku is scheduled to face UK-based Ghanaian cruiserweight, Frank Owusu (4-0, 4 KO’s) at a yet to be disclosed venue in Kumasi.

Banku bizarrely claimed he was bleaching his skin in hope of being named Ghana’s ambassador to Germany after President John Mahama’s second term election victory.
However, it appears he has abandoned his ambassadorial dreams as well as fairer skin in favour of a return to the boxing ring.
Banku was warned by the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) that he will have to cut short his boxing career if he continued bleaching his skin.
According to the GBA, the skin of sportsmen and sportswomen who bleached was difficult to stitch back together after they sustained cuts on their bodies.
In a video posted on Youtube, Banku who last fought against Ayittey Powers in December 2015, urged boxing fans to come in their numbers to watch him stop his unheralded opponent.
“My name is Braimah Kamoko, a.k.a Bukom Banku, any challenger no challenger. I will fight September 26 against Frank Owusu,” Kamoko said in the video.
“He thinks he can battle Bukom Banku, I will beat him mercilessly! The fight is coming on so all the people in the Ashanti Region should come and watch this fight, I will kill him!”

Owusu in the same video described Banku as a mad man, vowing to hand Banku his first professional loss in the third round.
He said, “I know this mad man can brag. I have watched all his fights, he is a good fighter but it won’t be against me. I’m giving him the third round, I’m going to knock him out in the third round like how I did to one Jamaican guy in London.
"His name is Rolland King. He was predicting that he was going to stop me in the fourth round but at last I knocked him out in the third round. So inside the ring I will prove to Banku that I’m the champion.”
