Time up for Bechem - Warns Berekum Chelsea coach

Berekum Chelsea Coach Randolf Armah has promised to stop Bechem United from defending their MTN FA Cup title when they go head-to-head in Sunday's Round of 16 clash at the Berekum Golden City Park.

Coach Armah said Chelsea were determined to eliminate the title holders from the competition, fully convinced that this is the right time to do that.

Chelsea have a good home record against Bechem having won all three previous meetings at the Golden City Park against their opponents.

Their only meeting this season was at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park which ended in a 1-1 stalemate in the league.

In an interview with the Graphic Sports yesterday, Coach Armah stated that playing at home would be a key factor, aside his side's preparedness to fight for a win.

"We will stop them from defending their trophy and I believe this is just the time to do that with our determination," coach Armah said.

"We need to fight till the end for a win which we are prepared for, but I believe playing at home can also boost our chances," he added.

However, his Bechem United counterpart, Solomon Odwo, insists his team were ready for the challenge on Sunday as they remain focused on defending their trophy at the end of the competition.

He stated that his side would give Chelsea a tough battle and still come out victorious.

Premier League giants, Accra Hearts of Oak, could opt for fresh legs in their Round of 16 clash with Young Wise on Sunday in their quest to end a 17-year wait for the MTN FA Cup.

Hearts, after responding to a humiliating 0-5 defeat to WAFA in the Premier League with a 4-0 hammering Bolga All Stars in Accra, face a must-win match in their bid to keep their hopes of winning the trophy alive.

Coach Frank Nuttall could use the game as an opportunity to rest his regular players and give the likes of Isaac Mensah, Samurdeen Ibrahim, Paul Acquah and Eric Kumi the chance to play against the Division One side who eliminated Great Olympics and Okyeman Planners from the competition.

Asante Kotoko will play host to Division One outfit Wassaman United at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday as they set their sights on putting a troubling season behind them and challenge for the MTN FA Cup trophy.

Premier League leaders, WAFA, will travel to the Tema Stadium to engage former top flight side, Amidaus Professionals, Wa All Stars also trek to Samreboi to challenge FC Samartex, Medeama welcome Elmina Sharks to the Tarkwa T&A Park and Nea Salamina host Steadfast FC at Dormaa-Ahenkro.

At the Nungua Town Park, Liberty Professionals will play as guests of Division One side, Danbort FC.
