Tennis: uniBank inaugurates 4 Garrison Club house
The 4 Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club in Kumasi has inaugurated what is regarded as Ghana’s first international standard tennis club house with first-class furniture.

The GH¢350,000 one-storey facility comprising offices, entertainment and rest rooms where players can relax and watch live international tennis matches, would also allow the club to host international competitions.
Banking giants uniBank doled out more than GH¢200,000 towards the project which was started two years ago.
Club members and other individuals contributed both in cash and building materials to cover the construction by the Central Command of the Ghana Armed Forces.
Ghana Tennis Association President, Isaac Aboagye Duah, commended the 4 Garrison Club for lifting the image of the sport, saying that not even the national association could boast of such a facility.
He said despite the successes chalked by the club, especially in social tennis competition, it was necessary of it to direct its energies towards building strong youth teams at the Under- 12, Under-14 and Under-16 levels.
The President of 4 Garrison Club, Mr S.S. Abebe, appealed to uniBank to adopt one of the club’s competitions and help groom talents.
He said the partnership between the club and uniBank would deepen the relationship between the two institutions and create synergies at the business front.
The club is proposing to train all staff of uniBank in Kumasi for free and help them develop interest in tennis, build their stamina and impact on production.
The head of marketing of uniBank, Felix Dontoh, who stood in for the chairman of the bank, Dr Kwabena Duffour, said the structures at the club were encouraging and could entice the bank to do more business with it.
The General Officer Commanding the Central Command of the Ghana Armed Forces, Brig. Gen. Cosmos Alhassan, called for discipline and also ensure that the facility was properly maintained.
