The meeting, which starts at 10a.m, is the fourth annual general assembly of the federation.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the GTF, Adnan Lamptey, who briefed the Daily Graphic, said the agenda for the gathering would include the review of the office of the current executive board, as well as the conduct of elections to elect new executive board members to steer the affairs of the GTF for the next four years.

Mr Lamptey, therefore, urged all members of the executive board, affiliate regional associations and other interested parties to take note of the forthcoming meeting.

Touching on the guidelines for the election of the new executive board, the PRO explained that only GTF members in good standing were eligible to contest for the election.

The candidates, he said, “shall also be approved by a vetting committee as stipulated by the GTF Constitution in Article 10(8)”.

“Nominations for elections had been opened from October 28, 2017 and closes on Saturday. Nominations shall be effected with a submission of nomination form in triplicate, filled by the nominee, to the GTF national secretariat,” Mr Lamptey stressed and said the time for submission at the secretariat would be from 10a.m. to 5p.m. each day apart from Sundays.

The positions to be contested for are president, vice-president and two other executive board members to be elected at congress.
