Table tennis league...Spinners still in the lead

Defending champions, the Immigration ping-pong team would have to continue playing catch up for a while as league leaders Spinners continued their winning ways after defeating Eastern Loopers and Fire Service, 3-0 and 3-2 respectively in the ongoing Table Tennis League.

In the week five fixtures played last Saturday at the D.G. Hathiramani Sports Hall of the Accra Stadium, Immigration also put aside the sudden resignation of their former coach to step their foot on the pedal and chase after Spinners.

The lads made up of the top three national best team players -- Derek Abrefa, Emmanuel Commey and Felix Lartey -- also beat Otumfuo Stars 3-1 and Team Baboo 3-0 to keep up the heat on Spinners at the top of the ladder.

In other first round matches of the day, Army beat Otumfuo Stars 3-1, Team Coach Addo lost 0-3 to Navy, Ashaiman Stars thrash  Fire Service 3-0 and Synergy lost 03- against Kings Royal Academy.

The rest of match one saw EMEFS beat Ghana Revenue Authority(GRA) 3-0, while Police won 3-0 against Western Table Tennis Club.

In the round two matches Army beat Loopers 3-0, Madina Stars lost 0-3 against Navy and Kings Royal Academy beat Team Coach Addo 3-0.

 Ghana Revenue Authority beat Synergy 3-0, Police lost 0-3 against EMEFS and Western Club beat Ashaiman Stars 3-1.

In the women’s game, Spinners beat Madina Stars 3-0, Navy beat EMEFS 3-0 and Team Coach Addo beat Western 3-1.

Army beat Police 3-1 and Immigration ladies won 3-0 against their counterparts from the GRA in the final two matches.
