Billed as a farewell match, this afternoon’s clash was arranged to provide Ghanaian fans an opportunity to bid farewell to the Stars in a fun-filled atmosphere.

Coach Appiah said he would give all his players an opportunity to feature against the Dream Team, a side made up of players from the Premier League and lower divisions which will be handled by experienced coach, Herbert Addo.

According to organisers of the match, each selected local player was guaranteed an appearance fee of GH¢500, while photo opportunities will be arranged for young fans to have memorable photos with their national team heroes.

Asamoah Gyan leads a star cast of national team players, including midfielders Kwadwo Asamoah, Sulley Muntari, Andre Ayew and his younger brother Jordan. Abdul Majeed Waris, Adam Kwarasey, Fatau Dauda, John Boye and new stars Jeffrey Schlupp and David Accam, will feature in Appiah’s team.

Coach Addo will select his team from the premier league’s top scorers Augustine Okrah of Bechem United and Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s Seidu Bancey, Samuel Abeiku Ainooson and Jordan Opoku, goalkeepers George Owu (Hasaacas) and Robert Dabuo (Ashantigold), Winful Cobbinah, Nury Sulley, Ashittey Ollenu (Hearts), Attamah Larweh, Nicholas Odjer (Tema Youth), Maxwell Mensah, Stephen Nyarko (Wa All Stars) and others who were chosen by football fans via a text poll.
