The Stars, with a not too bright a chance to qualify, will travel Thursday evening to engage the Cranes at the Namboole Stadium in Kampala on Saturday.

Twenty-one players in camp who all trained Wednesday night at the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi, are bubbling with confidence to undo the high-flying Cranes, and according to Coach Kwasi Appiah, the team will fight to the end.

“The squad is in high spirits especially after (the) huge win in Congo. We are hoping to extend that form in Kampala,” Appiah reportedly told Nation Sport.

"We are not under pressure but a win will be very positive for us. We will give it our all."

Returning striker Richmond Boakye Yiadom believes God who desired and made David a king can as well hand Ghana victory if He so desires and that the team is focused on the task on hand.

“I always believe Ghana we are one of the most talented countries with good players and we always want to win, we always want to appear at the big stage and I think against Uganda we are just going there for the victory.”

With only two matches to go, Egypt with nine points are in pole position to qualify from the group and are playing the weakest side, Congo. The Black Stars, with five points, are third behind the Cranes who have seven points. It will all be over should Ghana and Egypt win their penultimate games as that brings Ghana to eight points and Egypt, whom the play in the last round of matches, to 12 points.

Ghana is therefore praying for a win against Uganda, and for Congo to do the unthinkable by upsetting Egypt or at least picking a point.
