A total of 12 athletes have been selected for the Special Olympics Winter Games.and they will soon begin camping  to keep them in the top shape prior to the tournament.

In July last year, four athletes from Ghana participated in the athletics competition during the  Special Olympics summer games held in the United States of America and they returned home with four silver medals.

The expectations are that athletes selected for the Special Olympics winter games will  focus on their training to enable them return home with medals.

Briefing Daily Graphic about their preparations, a Director of Special Olympics Ghana, Mr. Emmanuel Kobina Baidoo said much seriousness  would be attached to the training to ensure that the athletes hit top form before departing to Austria in March next year.

“ We do not only  want  to win a medal in the  floorball games but also want to  be discipline on and off the field and score as many goals as possible with the view of marketing the country well, so we are not leaving anything  to chance” he assured.
