The two sides advanced to this stage after winning their respective first round matches, with Ghana edging out Algeria, while Kenya beat Ethiopia.

Ahead of the game, the Princesses have intensified their preparation, with head coach, Yussif Basigi, paying more attention to the stamina of his players.

Last weekend, the Princesses held four training sessions at the beach, and Coach Basigi told the Daily Graphic that those sessions were to improve upon the stamina of the girls, given the challenge the Kenyans would pose.

“The Kenyans play with more strength and they are also a very good side. We want to be ready for them both tactically and physically, hence the need for more workouts not just at the gym but also at the beach to improve upon our endurance level.

“We will step up the preparation in the final days to the game because, obviously, we want to be able to respond very well to the Kenya challenge,” Coach Basigi said.
