President Akufo-Addo lauds Ghana Fastest Human

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has promised to ensure an effective collaboration with the private sector to ensure that sports is well developed in the country.

The President, who said this during a visit by the organisers of the Ghana’s Fastest Human and past athletics, lauded the partnership of some private organisations for supporting the programme over the years.

Ghana’s Fastest Human is an athletic sprinting programme designed to get Ghana winning internationally again in athletics, with a seven–year focus on sprints, from 2013 to 2020.

The President, who recounted the era where Ghana was a star in world of athletic, praised the past athletes, including Mike Ahey for his exploits on the international stage and Oko Addy, who he said was his school mate.

Ahey was a gold medalist in the 1962 and 1970 Commonwealth Games, Addy won it in 1966 while Ohene Karikari was a bronze medalist in the 1974 Commonwealth Games.

The Founder of the Ghana’s Fastest Human Program me, Mr Rex Brobbey, thanked Corporate Ghana, led by Ghana National Petroleum Company (GNPC), and Adidas Ghana, supported by Red Sea Maritime, Pippas Gym and Moringa KING, for their continued support.
