Ping-pong knockout tomorrow

A knockout table tennis championship to usher in the national ping-pong league will be staged at the D.G. Hathiramani Hall of the Accra Sports Stadium tomorrow.

The tournament is expected to bring together the best players of the country and also showcase young talents in the sport.

In the first round of matches, defending champions Immigration will meet Western T.T. Club, Madina Club will face Ghana Prisons, SmartLine@Emefs will clash with Team Baboo and Kwayarko will play Fire Service.

The other first round male matches will be Police against Spinners, Power Club against Navy, Army versus Kings Royal Academy and Synergy versus Ghana Revenue Authority.

In the women’s category, Spinners will meet Navy, while Immigration play SmartLine@Emefs, with Western Club clashing with Madina Club, before Police face off with Ghana Army.

 

Some top stars from neighbouring Nigeria will also feature in the tournament. Nigerian players Ajulo Gbenga, Favour Ayobain and Ayodele Sunday will play for their clubs SmartLine@Emefs and Tesano Spinners.
