A former Premier League campaigners, Okwawu were relegated to the second tier league after the 2006/2007 season, but are now seeking qualification to the premiership next season but they face fierce competition from Planners and Olympics.

Okwawu United currently lie fourth on the league log with 38 points, while league leaders, Planners, have hauled 49 points with Olympics close on their heels with 48 points with six matches to go..

A determined Siaw last Tuesday told the Graphic Sports his side was unperturbed by their position on the league log.

“I am very much aware of the competition between Olympics and Planners. They both have been battling for the summit for some time now. But that doesn’t write us off. We all have the same number of matches ahead and I am positive we can over take them.

We went off for some time but I think we are regaining our strong momentum. Our position on the log is not bad and Planners are leading us with only 10 points, so I am very positive we can still make that return back to top flight football”, he stated.
