Nunoo Mensah beats Prof Dodoo at GOC polls

The President of the Ghana Weightlifting Federation, Ben Nunoo Mensah will head the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) for the next four years after defeating incumbent Professor Alex Dodoo Wednesday at the elections held at the Swiss Spirit Hotel and Suites Alisa Accra.

Nunoo Mensah polled 33 votes to defeat the Ghana Athletics Association boss Prof Dodoo who got 28 votes from the electoral college of 61 delegates.

The elections for the Executive Board of the GOC are still underway with other roles including General Secretary and Treasurer still up for grabs.

The new Executive Board will be sworn into office immediately after the polls barring  any protests from aggrieved parties.
