NFL: Detroit Lions to pay Ezekiel Ansah $12 million guaranteed base salary

Ghanaian NFL star Ezekiel Nana "Ziggy" Ansah is in line for a $12 million guaranteed base salary at the Detroit Lions ahead of the new season.

The Detroit Lions will make some new players very rich men during the next 24-to-72 hours.

However, the Lions will also pay guaranteed money to their own high-level players including 27-year-old defensive end Ziggy.

According to ESPN, Ziggy's "base salary of $12,734,000 becomes fully guaranteed Thursday, the first day of the new league year. That base was initially only guaranteed for injury".

Ziggy recently launched his foundation in Ghana with aims to provide support to students in the field of physical education, sports as well as scout and provide scholarship schemes to exceptional students who excel in sports.
