The victory makes it treble for Na-Adjrago in 2017 after winning the National Ranking Tour Three and Four earlier in the year.

Playing in front of a packed crowd, Na-Adjrago, 27, won the hard-hitting contest as he came from two games down to upset his opponent at the end of the final set to take home the GH¢7,500 cash prize, a giant trophy and products from the sponsors.

“Last year was terrible for me because I had a lot of challenges and I performed poorly, especially in this same tournament. I worked hard to improve on my performance this year and I thank God for bringing me this far. Now what I need is international exposure to play in tournaments abroad so that I will improve in my game,” said Na-Adjrago.

Runner-up Daniel Quartey also received GH¢3,500 cash prize and souvenirs from the sponsors.

Richard Okine from the Osu Tennis Club finished tops in the boys’ Under-14 division after defeating Lameck Bagerbaseh 6-4, 6-2, while Winneba-based Cindy Aidoo won the girls Under-16 edition after triumphing 7-5, 6-4 over Aleona Ankrah. For their rewards, both Richard Okine and Cindy Aidoo each received GH¢1,000 educational scholarship, trophy and GH¢500 worth of gift vouchers.

The one-week tournament was organised by the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF), under the auspices of the John Evans Atta Mills Memorial Foundation, with sponsorship from Coca-Cola, Nyaho Medical Centre, Interplast, KFC, Stallions Security and Masso Quarry.
