Ghana’s Under-23 male football team, Black Meteors, have stepped up their preparations for their Olympic qualifier against Congo this weekend by moving their training from Prampram to Accra.

The Meteors after beating Liberia in the first round earlier this month, have been in camp preparing for the showdown against Congo first at home before the second leg in Brazzaville two weeks later.

Coach Malik Jabir told the Daily Graphic that after a successful campaign in the qualifiers for the 2015 All Africa Games, the team were taking shape and were ready for Congo in Accra on Saturday.

The Black Queens, the senior female team, meanwhile leave for Cairo on Wednesday for their qualifier against Egypt. Though there are media reports that Egypt have pulled out of the match, handing a walkover to the Queens, the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) is yet to notify Ghana, thus the team continue with their preparations at Prampram.
