Medeama out to derail Aduana’s title hopes

Medeama skipper, Joseph Tetteh Zutah, has described Sunday's Premier League encounter with Aduana Stars at the Tarkwa T&A Park as a revenge mission for last season's 0-1 defeat.

Zutah, who is expected to lead Medeama in their titanic clash against Aduana Stars, said the Mauves and Yellows were ready to derail their opponent’s title hopes by beating them convincingly.

The 22-year-old midfielder was hopeful about victory to help realise Medeama’s dream of finishing in the top four at the end of the season.

Aduana face one of their title-defining games of the season as they travel to a familiar ground to lock horns with Medeama in a match that is a must-win for both sides.

The visitors could move to the summit of the league table this weekend with a win over the hosts as WAFA's game with Asante Kotoko has been postponed.

In an interview with the Graphic Sports yesterday, Zutah said his teammates were keen on beating Aduana Stars to move into the top four bracket.

"It is revenge for us because they defeated us here last season and we are focused on doing just that," Zutah said.

"Inasmuch as they need a win to top the table, we also want to move into the top four by claiming all three points and the team is really focused on doing that.

"We want to end the season in at least the fourth position and this game is the only means of achieving our aim, so we are taking the match seriously," he added.

Accra Hearts of Oak will play a second consecutive home game when they host Tema Youth with the hope of ensuring another victory to keep their slim chance of challenging for the title alive.

Hearts will be fresh for the tie, having seen their supposed clash with rivals Kotoko postponed last week due to the latter's involvement in a fatal accident which claimed their assistant equipment officer.

While the Phobians seek another vital home win after their 2-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea, Tema Youth need a win to stay out of the relegation zone.

Ashantigold need to return to winning ways when they visit the Carl Reindorf Park at Dansoman to play Liberty Professionals after their shocking 1-2 loss to Elmina Sharks at home last Sunday.

Berekum Chelsea will travel to face Bolga AllStars at the Tamale Utrecht Park, Ebusua Dwarfs host Wa All Stars at Cape Coast, Bechem United lock horns with Elmina Sharks at the Nduom Stadium, with Inter Allies welcoming Great Olympics to the El-Wak  Stadium tomorrow.
