The floorball friendly match,  which was the first of its kind in Ghana, was  organised by the Board of Special Olympics Ghana as part of their  preparations towards the 2017 Austria World Special Olympics  Winter Games scheduled between March 14 and 25.

The game, played at the Aviation Social Centre in Accra in three separate halves, made up of 15 minute-intervals, was very entertaining, and generated much excitement among the fans who watched it from the stands.

It was full of fireworks, as both teams produced exceptional goal scoring  skills,  but it was Michael Baidoo of the Special Olympics team who became the cynosure of all eyes  and a dependable striker for Ghana when he scored five of the six goals produced by his team.

Baidoo started his goal haul three minutes after the game started when he  intercepted a pass at the  vital area of his opponents, beat two defenders before planting the ball at the blind side of the goalkeeper in charge of the international floorball team, made up of nationals from Germany, Canada, America and Ghana among other countries. Baidoo was on hand again in the  10th and 12th minutes, giving a false hope that they would run riot of their much bigger opponents.

However, the international floorball team came into the picture and scored a beautiful goal through Gaddiel Kweku Ahima in the 14th minute, and a minute later, Mark Schow  scored from an acute angle to reduce the tally to 2-3 in favour of Special Olympics Ghana to end the half.

Moments after the second half started Constance Hervi who scored the match winner for Special Olympics during the penalty shootout, increased the tally, before Baidoo added his fourth for the team.

Hardly had the celebration died down before Rosi Jervasa reduced the tally for the visitors, and a minute later Kingsley Ofori Amegbe  also scored for the visitors.

The last half saw  the International Floorball team running riot on the Ghanaians and succeeding in scoring two quick goals through Mark Schow and Rose Jervasa, but just as the game was cruising to an end, Baidoo exhibited his scoring prowess by beating his markers to chip the ball into the net to bring the scores at par. In the penalty shootout to determine the winner, Constance Heve  was the only scorer and he won the game for Special Olympics Ghana.
