Let’s all rally behind Dr Kyei — Nana Yaw Owusu

A Former vice chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Nana Yaw Owusu, has implored past Chief Executives and Board members of Asante Kotoko to join forces with the supporters of the club to rally behind the present Chief Executive, Dr Kwame Kyei, as he strives to build a winsome side to conquer Africa again.

He said supporting Dr Kyei in cash and in kind would make Kotoko much more attractive to retain quality players from Ghana and beyond.

“It has been a difficult period for Kotoko to attract and retain quality players since the team won the continental trophy over 35 years ago.

The trend over the period is that many potent Kotoko players are poached by foreign teams as soon as they come into the limelight, making it impossible for the team to build a formidable squad to conquer Africa,”

Nana Yaw Owusu, who was also a former player of Kotoko, told the Graphic Sports at his residence in Kumasi.

He noted that “the present Executive Chairman of Kotoko was doing his best to build a winsome side, hence the need for all Kotoko faithful to rally behind him to make the club much more attractive to retain their players for sometime.”
