Latif Blessing unfazed by Stars snub

Liberty Professionals playmaker, Latif Blessing, says he is not disappointed that the handlers of the Black Stars did not give him a call-up for the final AFCON qualifier against Rwanda at the Accra Stadium last Saturday.

Coach Avram Grant extended invitation to as many as five local players for the game without the highly-favoured Liberty Professionals talisman.

Latif has been in splendid form this season, scoring 13 Premier League goals so far, which puts him just a goal behind leading scorer, Yahaya Mohammed.

Indeed, Coach Grant gave late call-ups to local players such as Bechem United’s Abednego Tetteh, Kotoko’s Dauda Mohammed and Wa All Stars’ Emmanuel Ocran.

In an interview with the Graphic Sports last Tuesday, Latif said, “I am not disappointed for not making the squad because I have to work harder for the future.”

“There are more years ahead and I believe my time will come to prove my worth for my nation,” he added.
