Kwarasey returns to Black Stars training

Adam Larsen Kwarasey eased Ghana’s injury worries after making a quicker-than-expected return to training last Thursday ahead of the Black Stars’ final warm-up match before the World Cup with South Korea in Miami on Monday.

The Ghana goalkeeper suffered a suspected thigh injury during training last Tuesday and immediately withdrew early to undergo assessment with the medical staff. The injury sparked off anxiety in the Ghana camp, coming days after Coach Kwasi Appiah was forced to omit centre-back Jerry Akaminko from his 23-man World Cup squad after the player sustained an injury during last week’s warm-up game with The Netherlands in Rotterdam.

However, after 24 hours rest and monitoring by the medical team led by Dr Adam Baba, Kwarasey was given the green light to return to training last Thursday at the Florida International University.

He is now in contention for a place in Monday's friendly against the Koreans.

Meanwhile, Jordan Ayew has also returned to training after being excused from training last Thursday for unexplained reasons.
