Kotoko win at last!

Coach Stephen Polack of Asante Kotoko has indicated that the team can only seek to build on their performance after securing his second win for the club since taking over.

Kotoko defeated Tema Youth 1-0 in their 16th-week Premier League game at the Tema Stadium yesterday to register only their first win in their last eight league matches.

Baba Mahama’s 67th-minute strike earned the Porcupine Warriors the only goal of the match and the maximum three points, having gone without a win in the last two months.

The win not only brought respite to the Kotoko faithful and Polack, who took over the club this month but also moved the team up the league log to the fourth position.

In a post-match interview, Coach Polack said he was encouraged by the performance of the players but cautioned there was still a work to do to return Kotoko to winning ways.

"We have a lot of work to be done on their players. We have quality players in the team and we can only guide then to do better, " he said

Lone goal hero, Mahama was adjudged the man of the match.

For his part, Tema Youth coach, Edward Odoom, attributed their loss to a split second loss of concentration on the part of his players.
