Kotoko host Hearts Sunday

The much-anticipated Premier League clash between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak is scheduled to take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday.

Kotoko return to action against Hearts in a 23rd Week outstanding Premier League match following their fatal accident at Nkawkaw which claimed the life of  their assistant equipment officer last month.

Last week, the Premier League Board (PLB) decided to fix the big match for Sunday after the management of Kotoko had indicated that the players would be ready for action by this weekend.

Last Sunday, Kotoko’s MTN FA Cup quarter-final match against NEA Salamina was also put off by the organisers under similar circumstances.

However, the Kotoko management believes that the playing body will be physically and psychologically prepared for their sworn rivals on Sunday, despite vehement protests by a section of Kotoko fans.

It is, however, unclear whether Coach Steven Pollack of Kotoko will be in the dugout on Sunday as he is still recuperating from a knee surgery.
