Kings Royal Academy to invest in table tennis

The chairman of Kings Royal Table Tennis Academy, Christopher King, says he is ready to invest more in the discipline to unearth more talents for the future.

Mr King, who was crowned “Best Chairman”, in the just ended National Table Tennis League, explained that table tennis aided in personal and oganisational development.

In an interview with the Daily Graphic, King, said: “I am ready to invest more into table tennis so we can unearth more talents in the sport”.

“Table tennis goes beyond just a sporting discipline to make us smart,” he added.

The King Royal Table Tennis Academy, which is sponsored by the Kings Royal Atlantic Hotel has been in existence for three years and can currently boast   six active local male players with a female team in its formative stage.

Internationally, the academy has two players in the United Kingdom, namely Rhoda Boadu and Gabriel Acheampong, aside other players in Sierra Leone and Nigeria, with a Korean player joining.

Mr King, however, urged young players in both male and female divisions to join the academy as they had invited coaches to teach the sport aside the practical aspect.
