K.K. Sarpong’s case against Kotoko July 30

The Kumasi Commercial High Court last Friday adjourned to Thursday July 30, the case brought before it by the former CEO of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr. K K. Sarpong, praying the court to recover an amount being owed him by the club.

This followed the completion of the pre-trial stage where the two parties were made to agree on the issues to be addressed at the trial.

At the hearing last Friday, the parties were however, unable to agree on the amount involved.

While the plaintiff insisted the club owed him in excess of GHc400, 000 being personal monies used to run the affairs of the club during his tenure as CEO, the cub on the other hand, maintained the plaintiff rather owed it.

The defendant’s suggestion for an independent auditor to audit the account of the club to ascertain the veracity of the plaintiff’s claims was turned down.

The presiding judge, Justice Emmanuel Ankamah, therefore adjourned proceedings to July 30, for both parties to slug it out in the court room.

Kotoko were represented by lawyers Mudjeeb Mohammed and Michael Agyen-Atta while Mr Akrasi Agyaben represented Dr K. K. Sarpong.
