The walk, according to the former Fenerbahce star, is to help sensitise Ghanaians to the need for peace in the upcoming general elections on December 7.

Speaking to the Daily Graphic, Johnson, who owns the BFC, said the election was all about choosing one leader on the nation and that Ghanaians needed to be reminded of the need to go through the election devoid of acrimony and violence.

He said he wanted to use the walk to create awareness of the need to exercise our democratic right in a more peaceful manner and asked all to join them drum home the need for peace while keeping healthy.

“We want to walk and keep fit while creating the awareness for all Ghanaians  to keep the peace we are enjoying in the upcoming elections because without peace we can’t develop,” he stated.

Johnson, who also played Accra Hearts of Oak, said Ghana had gone through this exercise for sometime now and so was convinced that the country would still go through peacefully but he owed it a duty to remind Ghanaians to observe the elections in peace.

Meanwhile, thousands of people are expected to converge on the premises of the BFC on Saturday, October 22, for the Dansoman workout.
