Allies, who needed just a draw to remain in the top flight after Great Olympics and Tema Youth lost their respective games, fought to earn a well deserved point away from home.

With 39 points in 29 matches, Allies were battling relegation alongside Olympics and Tema Youth and needed to avoid losing against the Phobians if they were to avoid exiting the elite division.

Both sides started the game strongly as they went in search of the opener, but it was Allies’s Abdul Nasiru Hamzah who had the clearest chance to give his side the lead when he beat his marker in the penalty box only to see his shot saved by Hearts’ goalie, Sylvanus Gbeti, in the 24th minute.

The visitors continued with their momentum and had another opportunity to score when Nasiru dribbled Hearts defender, Inusah Musah, but his shot narrowly missed the goal post.

In the second half, goalkeeper Gbeti made two great saves in the 48th and 50th minutes as Martin Antwi of Allies saw his shot from 20 yards denied before coming close again in a one-on-one situation.

The early stages of the second half saw the visitors pressing Hearts for a goal but the resilient second string Phobian side managed to hold them.

In the 67th minute, striker Cosmos Dauda came close to giving Hearts the lead but he failed to score from a good position.
