He warned his next opponent that he was coming after him when they clash in a mandatory title defence in the United States in the next few months.

Moments after stopping Juarez with a fifth round Technical Knockout (TKO), fired a warning to the champion, saying: “I’m coming for you, Jessie Magdaleno, so beware because I am ready to snatch your title from you. I am a warrior and I speak in the ring just as I did tonight.

"Team Dogboe is now ready to be the face of African boxing just as Azumah Nelson did during his time in the ring and I promise to lead the continent by example just as my predecessors did," the youngster yelled from the ring while savouring his spectacular victory over Juarez at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

With a powerful left hook, Dogboe dropped pre-fight favourite Juarez for the second time in the fight to earn him a deserved victory for the WBO Interim Super Bantamweight title and a shot at Magdaleno’s crown.

In the days leading to the bout, Dogboe promised to “tame the monster in Juarez”, and last Saturday he entered the ring like a hungry lion seeking to devour his prey. Before a capacity crowd in a charged atmosphere, the Ghanaian demolished his opponent with a very tactical fight plan which gave the Mexican no breathing space throughout the bout. Right from the start he attacked and attacked and attacked the Mexican with a combination of powerful body shots and crisp hooks which sent the him crashing to the canvas in the second round.

The Ghanaian refused to be intimidated by his Mexican opponent right from the start of the fight as he pounded him with power shots that hurt and unsettled over-confident Juarez.

In the second round, Juarez attempted to fire back with his reputation on the line, but Dogboe chased him with right and a perfect left hook combinations that sent him crashing to the canvas.

Dogboe's dominance continued in the third and fourth rounds as he controlled the show with good body shots, but Juarez never gave up as he kept coming on the Ghanaian like an hungry lion.

The action heated up again in the fifth round with Dogboe landing a powerful left hook that caught Juarez in the chin which sent him crashing onto the canvas and struggling back to his feet. Referee Tony Weeks decided to call off the action this time with Juarez wobbling after beating the count, still looking dazed and wobbling towards the referee.

Dogboe's win threw the arena, which included some former Ghanaian world champions such as Azumah Nelson, Joshua Clottey and Ike Quartey, into spontaneous celebration.

In his post-match interview, an ecstatic Dogboe, who extended his unbeaten run to 18 wins in as many fights with 12 knockouts, called on champion Magdaleno to face him by June as he vowed to finish him off.

The 23-year-old noted that he was ready to lead the sport in Africa just as the legendary Azumah Nelson did during his hey day and stated that a warrior only spoke in the ring, having been written off in the build up to the fight.

In the under cards, America's Patrick Ferguson and Ibrahim Kamoro fought to a draw in a WBO Africa Cruiserweight title clash, while Delali Miledzi won a unanimous decision Elliasu Sulley in a six-round Super middleweight contest.
