Handball league begins March 27

This year’s Greater Accra Handball League is due to commence on March 27.

The annual competition, which is expected to bring together handball teams from the various security services, and other teams from some private institutions, will serve as an

avenue for the selection of an  under-20  team to participate in the African zone three championship tournament.

The Technical Director of the Handball Association of Ghana, Mr George Bankole, in an interview with the Daily Graphic, urged interested teams to formalise their registration, at least,  one week before the commencement of the league.

“All interested clubs must also pay their participation fee of GH₵600 per team and GHC1, 200 for those with male and female teams,” he stated.

He said the association was putting its house in order to earn the right to host this year’s African club Championship in September.

Mr Bankole, who is also the head coach of the Handball Association of Ghana, appealed to corporate Ghana to support the association to honour its activities, which include hosting the African Club Championship successfully.
