The competition, which will see players in the doubles category doing battle for one of the eight trophies donated by Rockcare Group of Companies, producers of Alkamin Mineral Water, is also to generate interest in the game among corporate entities in the country.

A press release signed by the General Secretary of the federation, Phillipina Frimpong, said the competition, dubbed, “Annual Tennis Festival”, will be institutionalised on the calendar of the association and will be open to corporate bodies, the diplomatic community and social tennis enthusiasts.

“The aim of this one-day festival is to bring players in corporate institutions together, as well as those in the diplomatic community and interested persons to celebrate Ghana’s Independence Day, while playing for fun and networking”, the statement read.

The release further stated that registration, which is currently ongoing at the stadium, will end on Monday. It urged interested corporate entities to contact the federation on 0268-333803 for further information.

“The tennis court will be made available to companies for branding and sale of their products on the day of the event”, it added.
