GRA to add Reformers to victims

The Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium in Accra will be the battle ground today when league leaders, Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), and third-placed Reformers fight for the three points at stake in the Sapholda Hockey League.

GRA, who have proved to be unconquerable by winning all their eight matches with 20 points so far, are bent on adding Reformers to their victims to prove that in the men’s category, they have no peers.

With 39 goals from eight matches and only six goals conceded, GRA are now the team to watch. However, Reformers, who have won three out of eight matches will be no pushovers.

The match, which will start as early as 6:30am, will be the main focus of attention for hockey fans who are expected to troop to the stadium.

Other men’s matches are Exchequers versus Trustees, Kasoa Heroes versus Real Ambassadors, and Police versus Ark.

In the women’s division, GRA and Extinguishers will clash in a tough duel at 9:30 am. Like their male counterparts, GRA have won all their six matches, scoring as many as 46 goals, with no goal against them.

With sharp attackers and strong defenders ,GRA Ladies are poised to run over Extinguishers to increase their points build-up.

Real Ambassadors and Ark Ladies will also have an axe to grind when they meet at 11am to determine which side acquires the three points at stake.

Lying in the fifth position with six points, Ark Ladies are favourites to beat Real Ambassadors who have lost all six matches and are considered to be the whipping Ladies in the Sapholda Hockey League.

Other matches involve Golden Sticks and Citizens International which can go either way, just as the match between Tema Manhean and Ark Boys which at 1pm.
