Ghana will survive in group - Asamoah

Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah is upbeat about Ghana’s chances of making it out of their tough group at the 2014 World Cup.

The Black Stars are faced with a huge challenge in Group G which has tough nations such as Germany, Portugal and the USA.

Ghana have always progressed from their group ever since making their World Cup debut in Germany 2006.

Many football pundits have however predicted an early exit for the Black Stars team despite the quality of the team.

But Kwadwo Asamoah who is expected to play a key role in the Stars campaign is confident the team will once more rise to the occassion.

I think we have to go to Brazil with a strong hope of advancing from the group, Asamoah told Al Jazeera.

It is a tough group and the matches will be difficult but we have every chance to make it in this World Cup", he stated.

There are no easy groups or easy games, were fully aware of this and that’s how well be playing every game.

I always want to be the best so I always give 100 per cent for both club and country when I am playing", he added.

Ghana will open their World Cup campaign against USA on June 16 in Natal before facing Germany and Portugal in subsequent Group G games.
