The action is to enable the federation to investigate allegations levelled against it by the coach.

Fetrie had criticised the managment style of the federation, accusing it of undermining discipline and his authority as a coach.

Speaking to the Graphic Sports after receiving the Chairman of the Year Award at the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) awards,. Ben Nunoo Mensah, the chairman of GWF,  said he would  instill discipline in the team and would not spare anybody who would attempt to draw the federation back.

Mr Nunoo Mensah disclosed that the weightlifters had threatened to quit camp if Coach Fetrie was maintained, but had insisted that the coach be given a fair hearing.

“If Fetrie shows remorse then we will abandon the hearing and accept him back to our fold. Of course, we are not ready to countenance his persistent negative outbursts which affects team spirit and discipline in camp,” Nunoo Mensah said

He said he felt humbled by the honour done him by the SWAG, stressing the little things he had been doing had paid off and promised to elevate the sports to rival football..
