Ghana to host Nigeria in skate football

The Ghanaian Skate football team will on March 19 host their Nigerian counterparts in a match dubbed “Binatone International Unity Skate Soccer Fiesta’, at the Independence Square in Accra.

According to the Managing Director of Interworld Products Ghana Limited (Binatone), organisers of the event, Venu Babu, a dance and acrobatic performances would precede the main match between Ghana and Nigeria.

He said this event was aimed at popularising the sport and also increasing the competitiveness from the previous games which took place at the La Pleasure Beach last January.

Skate football is a fast seven-a-site and physical team sport which combines football, skating and handball and is usually played by people with physical disabilities using homemade skateboards.

The winners will take home a trophy and several prizes, as well as individual awards such as Most Valuable Player, Best GoalKeeper and Goal King.
