The win, WAFA's seventh consecutive victory on the bounce was secured courtesy a brace by Komlan Agbégniadan at the Sogakope Park on Wednesday afternoon. Liberty skipper Samuel Sarfo scored a late consolation for the visitors.

WAFA went into the week 13 clash with a one-point lead over Aduana Stars who have a game in hand and were playing Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the late kick-off.

Elsewhere, rivals Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko dropped points against resilient opponents.

At Tamale, Hearts were held by Bolga All-Stars in an entertaining 3-3 draw while Kotoko striker Kwame Boateng missed a penalty in their 1-1 draw against title-chasing Aduana Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium.
