Free gates for Sanford Women’s FA Cup final

Organisers have announced that gates will open for free during the final of the Sanford Women’s FA Cup to be played between Police Ladies and Fabulous Ladies at the Cape Coast Stadium on Saturday.

According to the Women’s League Board (WLB) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the FA Cup sponsors, Sanford Women’s Clinic, has agreed to foot the bill to allow many people to attend the game which is the first of its kind in women’s football.

Also, over  1,500 people who attend the game will get the chance to win prizes, all as part of efforts to promote the game.

Last Friday, the sponsors made good a promise to replace the trophy at stake by providing a giant trophy which is at the moment on display at the Cedi Store at Kotokuraba in Cape Coast.

As part of the programme lined up for the final, there will be a float in Cape Coast on Friday to parade the trophy.

Sanford, who has agreed to sponsor the Women’s FA Cup for the next four years, has provided an amount of GHC200,000 for the first year.
