Everest wins Waatco Diwali T20 cricket tour
Everest Cricket Club was crowned Champions for the 2016 Waatco Diwali Cup T20 Cricket tournament.

The High Commissioner of India to Ghana, His Excellency Mr Birender Singh, was the Chief Guest for the event along side his wife, Mrs Richa Rao.
The occasion was also graced by the Indian Association of Ghana vice president Mr Rajesh Thakker, Mr Henry Ackom, Chief Operating Officer of Ghana Cricket Association, a past president of the GCA, Uncle Dave and other executive committee members of the Indian Association.
The tournament, organised by the Indian Association of Ghana in collaboration with the Ghana Cricket Association, was held at the Achimota Cricket Oval last Sunday.
Everest took full advantage of the conducive atmosphere, and after winning the toss, put in Knight Riders to bat. However, the situation turned in favour of Everest Cricket Club as they bowled out Knight Riders for 72 runs.
Bowler Swapnil of Everest bowled a good spell and took 4 wickets. Chasing this modest score, the Everest batsmen had little difficulty and achieved the target in 13 overs. Swapnil was declared the Man of the Match.
Ajay of Everest Cricket Club was declared Man of the Series for his all-round performance , while the Best Batsman Award went to Shreyan Lakmal of BGC Cricket Club with Bhupinder of Knight Riders being declared the Best Bowler.
The tournament has been sponsored this year by the Waatco (Balaji Group of Companies) and co-sponsored by Bel Aqua, Pepsi, Binatone and Everest Cricket Club.
Mr Birender Singh presented the trophy to the winners and praised the GCA and the Indian Association for helping to develop cricket in Ghana.
