Emmanuel Clottey signs for Yalova SC in Cyprus

Former Ghana Premier League goalking Emmanuel Clottey has completed a transfer to Northern Cypriot Superleague club Yalova FC.

Clottey joins Yalova on the back of an unsuccessful stint last year with Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League.

The terms of the deal brokered by FIFA licensed agent, Tekin Birinci were not disclosed.

The 29-year-old will be teammates with fellow Ghanaians Samuel Kingston and Theophilus Mensah. Samuel Kingston is the younger brother of former Ghana international Laryea Kingston who also plays in Cyprus.

Clottey was top goalscorer of the Ghana Premier League in the 2006/2007 season with Accra Great Olympics after scoring 14 goals.

The journeyman striker has also had stints in Austria (FC Wackner Innsbruck), Denmark (Odense BK), Tunisia (Esperanace de Tunis) and the United Arab Emirates (Al Dhafra SCC).

Clottey has also had legal troubles in the past with FIFA slapping a staggering $180,000 fine on the player for a breach of contract with Tunisian giants Esperance when he signed for Kotoko.
