Coach David Duncan has expressed gratitude to fans of Accra Hearts of Oak, declaring in an emotional end-of-year message that "you are always in my heart and I will never forget you".

He said the special bonding he now shared with the club had been occasioned by the character of its fans and the special treat he had enjoyed from their ranks even after the club dispensed with his services last month.

Fans of Hearts donated a 32" Samsung LED television set to the 50-year-old at a ceremony he called an impromtu news conference in Accra last Friday as an end-of-year gift.

And Coach Duncan later posted a message on his facebook wall saying “I wish to express my profound gratitude to the fans of Accra Hearts of Oak for their kind gesture to me last Friday. I appreciate the gift greatly and wish the club all the best in their endeavours. God bless you all".

Hearts sacked the Duncan under very strange circumstances despite guiding the team to real championship contention in the current season.

The team has struggled ever since, losing twice and drawing once in four matches, including a 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Wa All Stars in the league and being  booted out of the MTN/FA Cup by lower league side Gold Stars.

Amidst the dynamics facing the club currently, he declared at the news conference that he had an unfinished business at the club, which he had transformed since assuming the technical reins a year earlier.

But he told Graphic Sports in an interview that he did not foresee a drastic change that could reinstate him as coach of the club under the prevailing arrangement.

"Whether I would love to return to the club or not does not arise at the moment because I don't see it happening now," he said.
