Dr Kwame Kyei, Group Chief Executive of the Unity Group, which also operates in the petroleum and gas industry has been tasked to reshape the administrative structure of the club to infuse professionalism and competence at all levels.

A statement from Manhyia palace issued and signed by its Chief of Staff, Kofi Badu, urged the Dr Kyei to ensure that the club consolidates its position at the top of the Ghana Premier League and takes its rightful place in Africa.

He is expected to head a new Executive Board to be constituted by Otumfuo on his (Dr Kyei) advice.

Although very little is known of the new ‘Board Chairman’, the statement described him as a lifelong supporter of the club who currently employs about 4,500 people across a range of industries.

‘Dr Kyei, hails from the royal house of Agona Wiamoase. He is one of the country’s outstanding entrepreneurs with a strong position in the downstream sector of the petroleum and gas industry,’ the statement said.

Last Friday, the Asantehene who is also the life patron of the club dissolved the Paul Adu Gyamfi-led board on receipt of its final report and interim accounts for the 2015/2016 Premier League season.

The old board mandate ended last September, three months after that of the managing director, Samuel Opoku Nti.

Opoku Nti was subsequently directed to hand over the club's administration to the accountant, Charles Opoku.
