He quickly checked-in before proceeding for his first workout at the magnificent resort in Murcia, Spain where he will be observed by the Viking technical team before a loan deal is finalised.

Appiah in an interview said he was never in doubt when Viking coach Ian Burchnall called to offer him a loan deal until the summer.

He also promised to hit the ground running for Viking when their league season starts on April 3.

Appiah suffered a career threatening knee injury during a training session with the Black Stars ahead of an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in June 7, 2015 and missed 12 months of football as a result.

He is hopeful that his loan spell at Viking will offer him the opportunity to revive his stuttering career.
