Coach Herbert Addo passes on

A former coach of the Black Stars, Herbert Addo, died yesterday at the 37 Military Hosptial in Accra where he had been receiving medical attention.

Coach Addo, who won the Ghana Premier League with Aduana Stars in 2010, has been on admission at the medical facility for some weeks now after falling ill.

The death of  the 66-year old coach, who won the WAFU Cup with three different clubs, adds to the list of former coaches and technical brains Ghana football has lost in quick succession within the past two years, following the death of Sir Jones Attuquayefio, Nana Kumi Gyamfi (C K Gyamfi), Ben Koufie, Fred Osam Duodu, Emmanuel Kwasi Afranie and recently Coach Sam Arday.

 

Coach Addo before his death had coached Accra Hearts of Oak, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Ashgold, Inter Allies FC and also handled national teams such as the Black Satellites and the Black Meteors.
