CAF executives in town

Confederation of African Football (CAF) President, Ahmad Ahmad, alongside his lieutenants are in town to hold an Executive Committee meeting on Saturday to deliberate on pertinent football matters confronting the continent.

Accompanied by the Second vice President of CAF, Constant Omari, Mr Ahmad  was met on his arrival at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra yesterday by Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, and acting GFA General Secretary, Alex Asante.

The CAF Executive Committee members are also billed to take part in the maiden Sly Tetteh Legacy Lectures which is being organised in memory of one of Ghana’s most respected football administrators, the late Alhaji Sly Tetteh, founder of Liberty Professionals.

“Mr Nyantakyi will deliver the keynote address on the theme: Breaking the Mould in the business of football: the vision, purpose and works of Sly Tetteh”, which is expected to extol the virtues of the former football star with an unmatched eye for talents and noted for unearthing stars such as Michael Essien, Sulley Ali Muntari, Derek Boateng, Asamoah Gyan, Kwadwo Asamoah, among others.

On Sunday, the CAF executive are expected to be at the Cape Coast Stadium to witness the WAFU Cup of Nations final between Nigeria and Ghana.
